Roadworks Update

The following roadworks are underway/programmed to begin shortly within the borough. Please accept our apologies for any inconvenience these works may cause you.

• Mellor Road - Ashton-under-Lyne
  Temporary road closure due to building works at Tameside Hospital. From 3rd December 2007 for 18 months. Diversions in place.
• Fitzroy Street - Ashton-under-Lyne
  Temporary road closure due to major building renovation works. From 31st January 2008 to 29th May 2009. Diversions in place.
• Welbeck Street South/ Fleet Street - Ashton-under-Lyne
  Temporary road closure due to major building works. From 28th February 2008 for 60 weeks. No diversion route will be in place.
• Bentinck Street/ Brook Street East/ Old Street - Ashton-under-Lyne
  Temporary road closure due to major building works. From 28th February 2008 for 60 weeks. Diversion in place.
• Stamford Street West - Ashton-under-Lyne
  Temporary road closure due to major building works. From 28th February 2008 for 60 weeks. Diversions in place.
• Corporation Street - Stalybridge
  Temporary road closure due to building works. From 17th March 2008 to 19th February 2009. Diversions in place.
• Marlborough Street/ Trafalgar Street - Ashton-under-Lyne
  Temporary road closure due to major building works. From 24th March 2008 for 12 months. Diversions in place 
• Canal Street/ Craven Street - Droylsden
  Temporary one-way traffic order due to major development works. From 17th July 2008 to 10th July 2009. Diversions in place. 
• Stockport Road - Denton  
  Temporary traffic lights. From 22nd September for 4 months. 
• Twirl Hill Road - Ashton 
  Temporary road closure due to major construction works. From 2nd October 2008 to 24th October 2010. Diversions in place. 
• Kelvin Street - Ashton
  Temporary road closure due to traffic calming feature works. From 3rd November 2008 for 18 months. Diversions in place. 
• Brook Avenue - Droylsden
  Temporary road closure due to sewer upgrade works. From 17th November 2008 to 16th February 2009. Diversions in place. 
• Merlewood Avenue/ Hallworth Avenue/ Granville Road - Droylsden 
  Temporary road closure due to sewer upgrade works. From 4th December 2008 to 1st February 2009. Diversions in place. 
• Bass Street - Dukinfield
  Footway refurbishment.
• High Street/ Bayley Street - Stalybridge
  Temporary traffic lights, on 7th January 2009.
• Gorsey Lane - Ashton
  Temporary road closure due to major construction works. From 8th January 2009 to 18th January 2009. Diversions in place.
• Guide Lane - Audenshaw
  Temporary traffic lights. From 5th January 2009 to 23rd January 2009.
• Stockport Road - Hyde
  Temporary traffic lights, on 6th January 2009.
• Mount Street/ Ridling Lane/ Travis Street - Hyde
  Temporary road closure due to construction works. From 1st January 2009 to 26th February 2009. Diversions in place.
• Grange Road North - Hyde
  Temporary road closure due to construction works. From 30th October 2008 to 31st July 2009. Diversions in place.
• Saxon Avenue - Dukinfield
  Footway refurbishment
• Dukinfield Road - Hyde
  Temporary traffic lights. From 6th January 2009 to 12th January 2009. Lights will be manually controlled from 8am to 9:30am, and lights will be off site by 4pm.
• Wimpole Street - Ashton
  Temporary road closure due to sewer pipe renewal works. From 12th January 2009 to 16th January 2009. Diversions in place.
