Wizard Of Oz Characters

As part of the Councils innovative and proactive approach to Education on Recycling and Waste Management services, the Council have had commissioned the main characters from the classic tale of the wizard of oz.

The brief was given that the characters were to be built from materials that can be recycled within the borough and deliver the recycling message.

The characters have proved to be a massive success already especially with the younger generation at schools and events and also with the Young at Heart.

The characters also became a focal point in the second series of the consumer police, an ITV fly on the wall documentary series that was shown over the summer on ITV 1.

The characters have also enjoyed success at Local events such as ‘The big Chat’ at Dukinfield Town Hall. The horticultural show in Stalybridge and were also part of the councils Britain in Bloom display.

As well as local events the characters also won best stand at this years Labour party conference held at Manchester’s GMEX centre and were a huge success with all the delegates.

The characters are all set to visit local schools and events conveying their very own recycling message.
