To work during school term time as and when required, on a casual basis, covering for absences on School Crossing Points within easy reach of your home. The hours may vary dependant on the point that you cover but would generally be between 8.00 am - 9.15am and 3.00 pm - 3.50pm. We wish to recruit casual workers for school crossing patrol duties. Successful applicants will cover for existing School Crossing Patrols when they are absent and would have the opportunity to apply for permanent employment, as suitable points become available.  
 
The main duties are to stop traffic to enable school children to safely cross the road at approved crossing points during specified times. You will also be responsible for the safety of all persons who are crossing the road at the approved crossing point.  
 
You must be punctual, reliable, be able to work on your own initiative and enjoy working with children. You should be able to be contacted at very short notice and be available to cover duties at points close to your home. 
 
THIS POST IS CLASSIFIED BY THE COUNCIL AS HAVING SUBSTANTIAL ACCESS TO CHILDREN UNDER THE AGE OF SIXTEEN. THEREFORE SUCCESSFUL APPLICANTS WILL BE SUBJECT TO AN ENHANCED CRIMINAL RECORD DISCLOSURE TO DISCLOSE ANY PREVIOUS CRIMINAL CONVICTIONS.
