Green Bin Scheme
Green Bins
Kerbside Collection Scheme
The Green bin recycling scheme was introduced in 2003/04 to approximately half of the properties across the borough.
Plans are in place to expand the scheme borough wide by March 2009.
For Residents who are still currently receiving a weekly refuse collection, the scheme also involves a red sack for the collection of recyclables. Residents are asked to place mixed glass into the Green bin and use the red sack for the collection of plastic bottles, and drinks cans.
For Residents on the Managed collection scheme only Glass bottles, cans and plastic bottles can be placed mixed into the Green Bin for collection.
Bins should be presented at the kerbside from 8.00am.
A list of collection dates will be provided on your bin.
