Roadworks Update

The following roadworks are underway/programmed to begin shortly within the borough. Please accept our apologies for any inconvenience these works may cause you.

• Mellor Road - Ashton-under-Lyne
  Temporary road closure due to building works at Tameside Hospital. From 9th April 2009 for 12 months. Diversions in place. 
• Twirl Hill Road - Ashton 
  Temporary one-way closure due to major construction works. From 2nd October 2008 to 24th October 2010. Diversions in place. 
• Grange Road North - Hyde
  Temporary waiting restrictions due to construction works. From 30th October 2008 to 31st July 2009. Diversions in place. 
• Scott Road/ Cemetery Road/ Shelley Grove/ Sunnybank Road - Droylsden
  Temporary 7.5 tonne weight limit due to Metrolink scheme works. From 9th February 2009 for 18 months. Diversions in place.
• Market Street - Droylsden
  Temporary one-way closure due to service diversion works for the Metrolink scheme. From 9th February 2009 for 6 months. Diversions in place. 
• Stamford Street West - Ashton
  Temporary waiting restrictions closure due to construction works. From 9th March 2009 for 18 months. Diversions in place. 
• Marlborough Street/ Bennett Street/ Trafalgar Street - Ashton
  Temporary road closure due to regeneration works. From 14th April 2009 to 31st July 2009. Diversions in place. 
• Huddersfield Road - Mossley
  Temporary road closure due to construction works at Mossley Hollins School. From 21st May 2009 for 18 months Diversions in place.
• Taylor Street - Droylsden
  Temporary one way road closure from junctions Masefield Road to Scott Road. From 21st May 2009 for 6 months. 
• Ashwood Avenue - Denton
  Footway refurbishment.
• Back Moor - Mottram
  Temporary 2 way traffic lights, near to junction with Mottram Moor. From 8th June 2009 to 17th July 2009. Lights will be manually controlled from 7am to 7pm. 
• Fleet Street - Ashton
  Temporary road closure due to building works. From 11th June 2009 for 11 months. Diversions in place. 
• Lyndhurst Avenue - Denton
  Footway refurbishment
• Mottram Moor (A57) - Hattersley
  Temporary road closure at Hattersley roundabout due to carriageway & footway resurfacing and repairs. From 1st July 2009 for 3 months. Works will take place between 8pm to 6am.
• Bowden Street - Denton
  Footway refurbishment.
• Ash Road - Denton
  Footway refurbishment.
• Melbourne Street - Denton
  Footway refurbishment.
• Hart Avenue - Droyslden
  Carriageway resurfacing.
• Mill Lane - Hyde
  Temporary traffic lights, from 18th June 2009 to 2nd July 2009.
• Hulme Road - Denton
  Temporary traffic lights, from 23rd June 2009 to 3rd July 2009.
• Irwin Street - Denton
  Footway refurbishment
• Union Street - Hyde
  Footway refurbishment, from Market Street to Crook Street.
• Arlies Street - Ashton
  Carriageway resurfacing.
• Edge Lane - Droylsden
  Temporary traffic lights near Repton Avenue. From 29th June 2009 to 3rd July 2009.
• Russell Street - Ashton
  Temporary road closure due to collapsed sewer works. From 23rd June 2009 to 14th Junly 2009. Diversions in place.
• Arlies Street - Ashton
  Temporary road closure due to carriageway resurfacing works. From 6th July 2009 for 1 week. Diverison in place.
