Carers in Tameside
Carers in Tameside
Welcome!
At any time in your life you may be called upon to look after someone close to you that has become ill or disabled and can no longer cope on their own in the home.
As a Carer it will probably be expected of you to be the main provider of comfort and support to the person that needs your help. That can be a daunting prospect, particularly so if the care period is likely to be long term. For many thousands of people in Tameside this is already a reality.
But what will you do? How will you go about your caring role? What help is out there to support you and the person you care for? We hope the information on this website will go some way in satisfying those questions and easing the difficulties that lie ahead.
The 'Information for Carers' button above, will take you to a variety of information starting at the very beginning when you first realise you are a Carer. Follow the links and you'll find more information on specific issues, which we hope will be of use to you.
Remember, this is a Carers website - your site. So, if there's anything additional that you feel should be included or anything you'd like to enquire about, please contact us. We shall do our best to help you.
For a quick look at some of the services available for people with a hearing, sight or mobility problem, carers and people struggling to keep their independence, you can watch our 6 minute DVD, which is called Help with social care from Adult Services. You can also watch the 11 minute DVD, which is the British Sign Language version
